Parent’s Handbook

Starting somewhere new is a big step.

We’re here to make it feel safe and welcoming.

We encourage a few short visits before your child’s first day (at no cost while a caregiver is present). These help tamariki settle in, build trust with our team, and feel more at home.

We kindly ask that you always say goodbye at drop-off. It helps children feel more secure and builds emotional resilience over time.

Health & Wellbeing

We value your child’s sleep routine and preferences.

You’ll receive a ‘Getting to Know Me’ form in your enrolment pack. This helps us create a calm, familiar rest environment that supports your child’s natural rhythms and comfort needs.

Comfort & Sleep

Toileting is a developmental milestone.

We work closely with each whānau to support consistency and routines between home and The Garden, making the transition feel calm and positive.

At The Garden, we offer a cloth nappy scheme, which supports our commitment to sustainability. All nappies are laundered under a strict hygiene policy. Families are welcome to opt out and provide their own disposable nappies if they prefer.
